Instead, the recovery seed is only stored safely and encrypted locally on your device.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-30eb05a elementor-widget elementor-widget-alert\" data-id=\"30eb05a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"alert.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-alert elementor-alert-info\" role=\"alert\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-alert-title\">What's a recovery seed?<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-alert-description\">A wallet's recovery seed is a string of 12-24 words that's mostly provided when generating a new wallet. This string of 12-24 words can then be used to restore your wallet to other devices.\n\n<br\/><br\/>\nA recovery seed is also mostly referred by people as \"backup seed\", \"recovery phrase\", \"backup phrase\", etc.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" class=\"elementor-alert-dismiss\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span aria-hidden=\"true\">&times;<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<span Once someone gets ahold of your recovery seed, he\/she gets full control over your funds.<\/li><li>Do not enter your wallet&#8217;s recovery seed anywhere, besides when restoring your wallet to another device.<\/li><li>Before sending your funds from your exchange to your non-custodial wallet, make sure to test your recovery seed first. Just to be extra sure.<\/li><li>Don&#8217;t flaunt your holdings, as to prevent <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptosec.info\/wrench-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$5 wrench attacks<\/a>.<\/li><li>As much as possible, avoid exchanges that require AML\/KYC.
